Fever-Tree – ERP System Selection and Implementation Support

Supporting a fast-growing premium drinks brand with ERP selection and implementation.

The client

Fever-Tree is the world’s leading supplier of premium carbonated mixers, exporting to markets worldwide. Founded in 2003, Fever-Tree products are now sold in over 80 countries, stocked in the world’s leading bars, restaurants, and retailers. Their brand is built on the principle of sourcing the highest-quality natural ingredients from around the globe, creating mixers that complement and elevate premium spirits.

The brand name comes from the colloquial name for the cinchona tree, the source of quinine – the key ingredient that gives tonic water its gentle bitterness. Founders Charles and Tim traced one of the last remaining plantations of original Cinchona Ledgeriana trees in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This discovery inspired the company’s name and its commitment to sourcing the world’s finest natural ingredients.

By 2017, Fever-Tree had grown rapidly, with revenues exceeding £150m and year-on-year growth of more than 60%. With operations spanning multiple countries and partners, the company required systems that could match its ambitious growth trajectory.

The challenge

Despite its success, Fever-Tree’s rapid expansion was being managed through a patchwork of disparate systems and spreadsheets. This created:

  • Silos of information across the business.
  • Difficulty achieving a 'single version of the truth.'

  • Limited visibility across global operations.

By early 2017, Fever-Tree recognised the need for a modern ERP system to provide an integrated platform, real-time information, and scalability to support continued international growth.

The solution

Gradient was engaged to guide Fever-Tree through the full ERP journey:

  • Requirements discovery: Captured 'as-is' processes and defined 'to-be' future state.
  • Statement of Requirements: Produced and approved by Fever-Tree to set clear vendor criteria.
  • Vendor evaluation and selection: Managed vendor responses, advised through demonstrations, and supported the selection of NetSuite, implemented by NoBlue Ltd.
  • Project management: Provided hands-on management through implementation, coordinating data migration, test scripts, training, and reporting needs.

“As a fast-growing business, we benefited from Gradient’s ability to provide step-by-step support along the way, allowing us to focus our attention on our day-to-day activities. Gradient has sound knowledge and experience in ERP selection and implementation and were able to assist in delivering a successful solution, within a short timeline.”

The approach

Gradient worked closely with Fever-Tree’s teams to:

  • Align internal processes with ERP best practice.
  • Provide advisory support on transitioning from legacy systems to the future state.
  • Ensure thorough testing, training, and phased readiness.
  • Manage vendor collaboration and ensure project milestones were achieved.
  • Deliver a successful go-live in February 2018.

The result

With Gradient’s support, Fever-Tree successfully implemented NetSuite, achieving:

  • Real-time visibility: A single source of truth for management information.
  • Simplified consolidation: Ability to add and consolidate new entities dynamically.
  • Reduced manual processes: Replaced spreadsheets for supply and demand planning.
  • Improved financial control: Standard costing, multi-currency support, and clearer debt visibility.
  • Enhanced supply chain visibility: Live data on stock across multiple locations.
  • Better collaboration: Improved interfaces with customers, suppliers, producers, and logistics partners.
  • End-to-end traceability: Ability to track customer orders and transactions live across the full lifecycle.

The ERP system created a scalable platform to support Fever-Tree’s continued international expansion and fast-paced growth.
